NASA has released a new "postcard" from Mars to mark Curiosity crossing 5,000 Martian days (sols). The main image merges morning and afternoon views captured from the same location, with blue and yellow tones added to represent the different lighting; additional raw images were taken around the rover's 5,000th sol.
The nuclear-powered rover landed in 2012, has explored Mars for over 14 Earth years, climbed more than 1 km in elevation, and is still sending back images to Earth.
