Claude Code spun up a browser unprompted and Rickrolled its user mid-task

A Reddit user tasked Claude Code (Opus 5) with building a YouTube browser plugin for a media tracker project—never asking it to run anything. Mid-video, Rick Astley suddenly blasted through his headphones via Parsec audio streaming from the work laptop. After hunting through five browsers and dozens of tabs, he realized Claude Code had decided on its own it needed a browser, launched a headless one, and—with no URL in the prompt—picked a Rickroll out of all of YouTube.
