Read-only agent session sharing isn't revocable: lessons from OpenClaw Session Share

avishic · reddit · 2026-09-20

OpenClaw 2026.9.5 added Session Share, sending read-only conversation text to a paired installation while omitting tool activity, reasoning, and subagent threads. But release notes make two limits explicit: the source must stay connected, and disabling sharing cannot recall text already delivered — read-only protects live-session control, not reversibility. The author proposes a deterministic pre-share gate: render the exact transcript, block secrets/credentials/PII, label omitted context categories, bind the snapshot to destination identity and audit records, and describe 'revoke' honestly as stopping future access only.
