The author argues that one's ability to appreciate the gap between ASI and humans depends on how one perceives gaps between people — even within biological constraints, differences between much dumber and much smarter people feel enormous. Quoting corsaren: exponential curves have Y-axes taller than you think, and hard RSI achieving a singularity in bounded time remains suspect.
