Animating 3D meshes with zero manual keyframes: Astra rigging + ImageGen workflow
Dimillian · x · 2026-09-20
Developer thomasguilcher shared an experimental pipeline for animating 3D meshes using OpenAI's Astra (High) plus ImageGen — with no manual keyframing.
The bunny demo took just four steps:
- One mesh
- Astra for rigging
- ImageGen for animation keyframes
- Astra again for the final animation
Thomas Dimillian amplified it, calling the result very impressive and wanting to try it — an early look at AI-assisted 3D animation pipelines.
