SoftBank expands credit line to $6.5B, stacking leverage to fund its OpenAI bet

SoftBank expanded an existing credit facility from $6.05B to $6.5B, gaining an extra year to draw on it, with 20+ banks involved at SOFR plus 210bps.
This sits alongside a $5B increase to SoftBank's Arm-backed margin loan (now $25B) and talks with Apollo to grow a separate loan to $9B—all financing its OpenAI commitment while OpenAI's own listing slips past 2026.
