Michael Bronstein replied to Lior Pachter's extreme proposal that each researcher should be limited to a single paper in their entire career: if no papers were allowed at all, it would be like buying a talking parrot and getting sold an owl instead — a year later the bird still doesn't talk, but has very intelligent eyes.
