Rant Against Both Copyright Holders and AI Firms: 'No 200-Year Hostage Over Civilization'

In his view, artists claiming control over publicly distributed works and AI firms locking down model outputs are the same "wicked" move: privatizing civilization's commons.
He warns this path leads to attribution becoming a civilization-wide blocking power for 200+ years. In a follow-up reply he argues that sampling a song drives plays, social relevance, and actual purchases—"it's literally free advertising"—and that history has no love for controllers. We will find a better way to make money, he concludes, without holding the world hostage.
