Google reportedly planning to pay websites whose content feeds Gemini and AI Overviews

Indie maker Tibo Maker ($8m exit, $1M MRR portfolio) reveals Google is expanding a partnership program to pay websites whose content meaningfully contributes to the freshness and factuality of generative AI responses, surfacing in Gemini, AI Overviews and AI Mode. Similar programs previously existed as negotiated deals with news publishers worldwide; this one is being scaled up—potentially a new revenue channel for content sites.
