PocketFM hits $500M run rate with 93% AI-produced content and 2.5M paying users

PocketFM, an audio storytelling platform best described as web novels + short dramas + mobile-game monetization, now has 93% of content AI-produced and a $500M annualized revenue run rate, with 250M+ listeners, 2.5M+ paying users, and 96 titles earning over $1M each (13 above $10M). A single series, My Vampire System, ran 4,192 episodes and generated nearly $90M.
The playbook: short 10-15 min episodes with cliffhangers and coin-based microtransactions; AI first attacked the costliest step — an ElevenLabs partnership boosted audio output 10x and cut costs 90%; in 2025 its CoPilot tool analyzes plot pacing, conflict, and hooks using real user behavioral data, plus cross-language localization. The company now tests 1,000 story pilots monthly, turning content into a probability business: mass-produce cheaply, then scale only what the market proves. Its new fully-AI micro-drama app PocketSaga hit $15M ARR in three months, reversing traditional IP development by validating stories in audio first.
Caveats: 2.5M hours of output also means 2.5M hours of potential garbage, shifting scarcity from production to curation; ordinary creators' earnings are diluting as supply explodes.
