A 2-3 year old male mountain lion was safely returned to the wild by California DFW and the Santa Cruz Puma Project, complete with a tracking collar. The AI community turned the wholesome story into a meme, joking that SF is "so evil" it released the lion with a collar purely to harvest egocentric video data for model training.
