Claude Code adds AGENTS.md support in v2.1.277 as fallback to CLAUDE.md

Anthropic's Claude Code now supports AGENTS.md: starting with version 2.1.277, if no CLAUDE.md exists in a folder, Claude will check for and use AGENTS.md instead. The behavior can be toggled in /config. The move signals convergence toward the community-standard agent instruction file, with Anthropic CEO Michael Truell quipping "AI is finally aligned."
