AssemblyAI is hosting a hands-on voice agent workshop during SF Tech Week, where attendees use the AssemblyAI Voice Agent API to build a fully interactive voice AI into a vintage toy (Furby-inspired) and take it home.
- Curriculum: connecting hardware to a voice pipeline, streaming speech and agent responses in real time, designing personality and behavior
- Requirements: laptop with Python 3.8+ or Node.js 18+, plus Claude Code / Codex / OpenCode installed
- Format: 5:30–7:30pm build session, no hardware-hacking experience needed, food and drinks provided
