OpenADMET lands Gates Foundation funding to build open toxicity data for drug discovery

OpenADMET received new Gates Foundation funding to expand into toxicity prediction, with Octant Bio helping build scaled, cheap datasets for targets like the hERG channel and aminergic GPCRs, plus competitions planned for coming years.
Context: safety and toxicology issues account for 30% of clinical trial failures. Mechanistic understanding of hERG cardiotoxicity remains poor, and industry aminergic GPCR off-target data is almost entirely proprietary, generated on non-overlapping target sets under inconsistent conditions. The project aims to produce open, standardized, model-ready data to break the cycle of losing entire clinical programs to late-stage safety failures.
