Claude Code now supports AGENTS.md starting in version 2.1.277: when no CLAUDE.md exists in a folder, Claude will check for and use AGENTS.md, with the behavior toggleable in /config — making one agent instruction file portable across coding tools. The internet's reaction: "fucking finally."
