Claude Code finally adds AGENTS.md support in version 2.1.277

Anthropic has added AGENTS.md support to Claude Code. Starting with version 2.1.277, if no CLAUDE.md exists in a folder, Claude will check for and use AGENTS.md instead. The feature is built on Claude Code mods — an upcoming harness customization mechanism — with AGENTS.md shipping as a built-in mod whose source is public; developers will be able to build custom project-instruction mods themselves.
