Claude Code adds AGENTS.md support in v2.1.277, auto-detected when no CLAUDE.md exists

Claude Code now supports AGENTS.md as of version 2.1.277: when a folder has no CLAUDE.md, Claude will automatically detect and use AGENTS.md instead. The behavior can be toggled in /config. This lets developers reuse agent instruction files already written for other coding tools, lowering the friction of sharing project conventions across different AI coding agents.
