Pocket FM launches Sherpa, a retention-trained AI fiction writer that boosted its ARR to $500M

Pocket FM, the "Netflix for audio dramas," launched Sherpa, an AI fiction-writing tool trained on 5.5B hours of playtime with minute-by-minute retention data. Feed it a 1-2 sentence premise and it generates a full season — characters, arcs, episode structure, cliffhangers — for audio series and screen development.
Key numbers:
- Sherpa drove a 1200% increase in content production in one year, taking Pocket FM's ARR from $250M to $500M.
- 550K+ creators produce 2.6M hours of content annually on the platform; 10% of eligible writers make >$200K, one blockbuster generated >$100M, and 3 writers became millionaires in under 2 years.
- The product covers the whole workflow: idea discussion, drafting, feedback, storyboarding, publishing.
It's a landmark case of one-person studios scaling content output with AI — retention data, not prose quality, is the optimization target.
