Claude Code CLI 2.1.277 lands with 87 changes. Highlights: projects without CLAUDE.md now read AGENTS.md for project instructions (configurable via /config; not yet on Bedrock/Vertex/Foundry); hung claude -p and Agent SDK sessions now report errors and exit 1 instead of stalling; fixed 'text content blocks must be non-empty' errors from empty assistant turns. Signals growing adoption of the cross-tool AGENTS.md convention.
