Neuralink's VOICE trial lets a paralyzed man speak with his own voice via Grok Voice

Neuralink showed a major step in its VOICE trial: patient Terry, who can't speak, uses his brain implant to drive a brain-to-voice interface.
- He initially trained the algorithm by miming speech as best he could
- Now he simply thinks the words and hears them in his own natural voice
- Neuralink reads intent from the brain; Grok Voice (xAI) synthesizes the natural speech
- The goal is restoring a voice to people who cannot speak
It's a collaboration between two Musk companies, combining a BCI with xAI's voice model.
