Trolley problem: Jev-style API turns jina-reranker-v3.5 into a ruthless decision engine
gaganghotra_ · x · 2026-09-19
Developer @hxiao wrapped a Jev-style API around jina-reranker-v3.5 to turn it into a "System 1"-style decision engine. Result: it always pulls the lever in the trolley problem, whether one person dies or a billion—because the reranker was trained to maximize retrieval relevance, not decision rationality. Notably, the I/O works: a listwise reranker can be dropped in as a decision maker.
