AssemblyAI launches Blurt dictation app: 19 languages, sub-second, $0.62/hr on Universal-3.5 Pro
AssemblyAI · x · 2026-09-19
AssemblyAI launched Blurt, a push-to-talk dictation app built on its Dictation API and the Universal-3.5 Pro model. Beyond transcription, it strips filler words and false starts and formats output as notes, commit messages, or customer replies. It supports 19 languages, processes short clips in under a second, and costs $0.62/hr. The team also demonstrated keyterm control: deliberately misspelling "Minoxidil" as "Minoxidril" made the model reproduce the exact spelling provided.
