Anthropic's lobbying surges: outside firms up from 2/$80K to 9/$920K, in-house to $1.97M

Based on quarterly Lobbying Disclosure Act filings (Form LD-2, 2023–2026) via the Senate Office of Public Records API, Anthropic shows the sharpest rise among AI safety-oriented organizations: outside lobbying grew from two firms and $80,000 in 2025 Q1 to nine firms and $920,000 by 2026 Q2, while in-house lobbying climbed from $360,000 to $1.97 million — a major scale-up of policy influence in Washington.
