Report: UK is the most AI-exposed country — and adoption speed decides whether that pays off
dc_lawrence · x · 2026-09-19
A new report for BritishProgress finds the UK is the world's most AI-exposed country, which could mean the biggest productivity uplift — but the UK is poorly positioned on grid connections, labour market flexibility, energy prices, sector regulation and its tax base. edlawrence adds that a service-dominated economy may be a blessing: human labour can expand into creative, interpersonal services better than robots-handle manufacturing, but business-as-usual risks jobs and value flowing to faster-adopting countries.
