Researchers are debating the contribution of a 10,000-agent parallel swarm to a reported Navier-Stokes discovery. One side argues claiming 'the swarm component is probably only 10%' is odd since the proof wouldn't exist without that exact parallel scaling.
Elie Bakouch counters that the plot shows increasing sequential test-time compute — which is more efficient — has far less impact than the model capability gap itself, and there's no evidence smaller swarms of 100 or 1,000 agents couldn't have done it.
