AssemblyAI released Blurt, a free open-source macOS dictation app showcasing its Dictation API: hold a key, speak, and cleaned text lands wherever you're typing. It claims 30% fewer hallucinations than Whisper, transcription in 150ms with cleanup under a second (no local model), 19 languages with mid-sentence code-switching, automatic filler-word removal, and verbatim/formal/casual output styles. Developers can build their own with the API; new users get $100 in credits.
