dSebastien released Obsidian Starter Kit v4, an "AI-native" update that turns an Obsidian vault into a strongly typed knowledge base AI tools can operate on directly:
- OSK plugin: note types, properties, tags, folders and templates as structured data, with an osk-cli and an MCP server so Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI etc. can talk to the vault
- 375 specialized AI skills for research, writing, tasks, health, publishing, vault maintenance and more
- Dozens of AI agents with persistent identity and memory (Editor, Researcher, Skeptic, Coach, Ghostwriter…)
- Philosophy: AI augments thinking, doesn't replace it—avoiding AI slop
- Combines PARA, Zettelkasten, Johnny Decimal and GTD; paid product with lifetime updates, claimed to save 100+ hours of setup
