Mozilla Puts Up $5M to Partner With Mila on Locally-Runnable Open AI Systems

At the ALL IN conference, Mila and Mozilla announced a new initiative to build open, trustworthy AI. Funding includes a $5M initial investment from Mozilla, an additional $1M from Hypertec Group, and support from the Government of Canada. The collaboration aims to give organizations an alternative to proprietary models: AI systems they can own, control, and run locally.
