Baidu Cloud bets on 'capability mass production' for embodied AI, serving 50+ robotics firms
量子位 · wechat · 2026-09-18
At the 2026 Smart Economy Forum, Baidu EVP Shen Dou argued the embodied AI industry is shifting from building robots to mass-producing capabilities—replicating validated skills across robots and scenes.
- Three links: model iteration (Baidu Baike's unified workflow, SONIC training scaling to 128 GPUs, WAM inference latency cut to 1/4); data production (Dongguan embodied training ground with 13 real industry scenes, 50 heterogeneous robots, 100+ body-free rigs, serving 35 firms, doubling as a pilot-testing platform); cross-embodiment deployment (unified training/inference for Shangwei Q1/T1 plus voice, edge-cloud and safety support).
- Partners: WuJie Dongli's MWA brain at 99.5% effective training time, Qianxun Intelligent at 98.8%; Zhiyuan, Galbot, Unitree, Xingdong etc.
- IDC and Omdia both rank Baidu Cloud first in China's embodied cloud market with 29.55% share.
