mitsuhiko notes that compaction issues are Anthropic-specific. You can hook into compaction via pi extensions and hit the API directly while he works out how to expose Jev from pi-ai. The approach may work well on non-Anthropic models, but on Anthropic's modern models with new accounts, retained messages lose reasoning after compaction.
