Claude Helps Diagnose a Battery-Draining Sony TV Remote Down to One Bad Capacitor

A user's Sony TV remote burned through two batteries a week before dying. Working with Claude—taking multimeter readings while the model analyzed them—they traced an 80Ω short past the 2.2Ω current-limiting resistor R16, found the hot spot under power, and identified a shorted SMD capacitor C17. Removing it fully restored Bluetooth, voice, and IR, saving a $99 replacement. Bonus discovery: the remote has Bluetooth, no need to point it at the TV.
