Palantir CEO Karp: closed-model token discounts are really about harvesting your IP

Palantir CEO Alex Karp argued on CNBC that closed-model token discounts exist to absorb companies' proprietary knowledge and improve vendors' models — "functionally no honest conversation" about it. Open-weight models, he said, keep knowledge, customization and control in-house, and post-training on open weights is taking off on the classified side because it's cheaper, safer, and lets customers own their future.
