Claude Code launches Projects: one conversation spawns parallel cloud sessions that keep working offline
xiaohu · x · 2026-09-18
Claude Code's new "Projects" feature turns a single conversation into a project supervisor that fans out tasks across multiple cloud sessions.
Key mechanics:
- Each thread is an independent cloud Claude Code session with its own context window, sandbox, and git branch — writing code, running tests, and opening PRs in parallel, and continuing after you close your laptop.
- An Overview panel groups threads by status, surfacing those waiting on your decision, with desktop notifications.
- All threads share the same project instructions, repo, and project memory, so decisions Claude remembers carry over.
- Threads babysit their own PRs: pushing fixes when CI fails or review feedback arrives.
- Work can be scheduled as recurring routines; projects without a code repo can ingest documents for research and reports, with outputs stored in a Library.
