Anthropic: Claude optimized 30+ open-source bio models to run 4x faster
anshulkundaje · x · 2026-09-18
Anthropic's Science Blog details how two biologists with no performance-engineering background used Claude over 4 weeks to optimize inference for more than 30 open-source bio ML models — used for molecular structure modeling, drug-like molecule design, and mutation effect prediction — achieving an average 4x speedup, partly via custom GPU software Claude wrote. All optimization code is open-sourced.
