Microsoft AI CEO Suleyman: autonomous AI could seed a new 'silicon species' we may lose control of

In a BBC interview, Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman warned that creating AIs able to act autonomously, set their own objectives, earn money, own assets and run businesses amounts to "seeding a new silicon species which will no doubt compete with us for resources, no matter how much it cares about humanity." He admitted "there's every risk that we might lose control of it," framing humanity's job as containing and aligning the technology. Full video on BBC News.
