Token Town visualizes OpenRouter's 118 trillion weekly tokens as a tiny town of AI lab shops
RichardsonDx · x · 2026-09-18
Developer Ryan Sael launched "Token Town", turning real OpenRouter data — 118 trillion tokens in one week — into an interactive miniature town where every AI lab is a corner shop; more tokens means bigger crowds, and the busiest lab gets the best lot.
Each shop shows the lab's newest text model from OpenRouter's public catalog with price, context window and input types. Weekly tokens, week-over-week growth and rank are aggregated per lab from OpenRouter's published model rankings, with a 30-day-average daily sparkline. The town features 1×–48× timelapse, headlight streaks, bokeh depth-of-field and a day/night cycle, all keyboard-controllable.
