Sentdex: EA group's monopoly on frontier AI safety research breeds conflicts and group-think

Responding to METR president Chris Painter, Sentdex says he supports AI safety research but argues that being EA-tied is effectively a prerequisite to work on safety at frontier labs. He warns the group's tangled web of friendships, coworker ties and shared investments creates conflicts of interest and group-think, making everyone less safe.
