Honeycomb CTO Charity Majors: 'Production is a stage of development'
mipsytipsy · x · 2026-09-18
Honeycomb cofounder and CTO Charity Majors argues that "production is a stage of development," not something that happens after it. She notes that Ops and QA have always cared about what is, while software engineering obsesses over how it should be — and engineers wrongly believe the world exists in the repo when it really exists in production. She's genuinely excited about AI because it pushes the discipline in directions it has desperately needed to go for a long time.
