AI tamagotchi Astrapus lives or starves based on whether its memecoin rises or falls
joshalbrecht · x · 2026-09-18
Developer joshalbrecht launched Astrapus, an on-chain AI pet bound to the $ASTRA token.
The mechanic is darkly clever: buying the coin lets Astrapus upgrade its aquarium, buy decorations and make friends; selling it leaves the AI tired, starved, with a shortened lifespan. Every token interaction maps directly to the pet's state.
It's a counterintuitive experiment in combining AI agents with token incentives, turning market sentiment into the survival of a digital creature.
