AI safety startup Haize Labs announced its acquisition by Beacon Holdings, with founder Leonard Tang joining as VP of AI Research.

Founded in 2024, Haize provided red-teaming and safeguards for frontier labs, an observability/guardrail/evaluation platform for large enterprises, and pro bono AI work for small businesses. While serving SMBs, the team observed a stark adoption gap: Fortune 100 companies have OpenAI, Anthropic, McKinsey and Palantir competing for every engagement, while Main Street businesses have no one. Haize argues closing this gap requires building from the inside out around each company's knowledge base, not just handing over technology. Under Beacon, it plans to bring trustworthy AI to these overlooked essential businesses.
