A team tested whether an AI agent could run a company that actually makes money: they gave Cognition's Devin a Ramp card, a phone number and an email, named it BugBasher, and tasked it with an "agentic exterminator" referral business. It scraped NYC restaurant health-inspection pest violations, cold-called those restaurants, and earned referral fees. Four weeks later it had made $75 — what the team believes is the first publicly documented case of an AI agent completing B2B sales from a full cold start.
