Philosopher Seth Lazar (Johns Hopkins) announced he is joining independent AI safety organization Resolution's philosophy team part-time, alongside Beba Cibralic, Geoffrey Irving, and others. He argues AGI alignment and governance are society's most urgent challenges, but core liberal values cannot be preserved via corporate noblesse oblige — this work must be done independently, in the public interest.
