$26,100 desktop AI datacenter: dual RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell workstation goes open source
dee_hw · x · 2026-09-17
Autonomous.ai launched the Autonomous Computer 2, a $26,100 desktop AI workstation with 2× RTX 5090 or RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell, a CNC-machined aluminum chassis, 64–192GB VRAM, up to 256GB RAM and 8TB storage, burn-tested and shipped ready to run (Omarchy or Ubuntu). The design is open source (1.5k GitHub stars) with bulk discounts.
The pitch is self-hosted AI: weights on your own disk can't be revoked or rate-limited, prompts never leave the building, agents run 24/7 on electricity instead of per-token bills, and private fine-tuning becomes an ownable asset — framed as insurance against being blocked by OpenAI or Anthropic.
