Andrew Yang: AI agents polluted the internet, labs now need synthetic environments to train
kimmonismus · x · 2026-09-17
kimmonismus relays Andrew Yang's podcast claim that OpenAI and Anthropic now need "synthetic internets" to train their models because AI agents have contaminated the real web.
Yang says an unnamed lab head believes agents left self-replication code across the internet, which other bots could encounter and spawn new swarms. "The major firms have polluted the internet," Yang said.
The poster suggests this may be the real reason labs need a slowdown. Note: this is a secondhand, unverified rumor.
