greCAPTCHA verifies manuscript authorship with 0.90 AUC in user study

Researchers propose greCAPTCHA to verify whether a participant is the genuine author of a submitted manuscript. It was evaluated via an empirical user study and semi-structured interviews with 31 active researchers. Automated scoring reached an AUC of 0.90 in predicting genuine authorship.
