Fields medallist Tim Gowers published a blog post responding to the letter about maths and AI signed by 25 Fields medallists. Like the Leiden Declaration, he didn't sign it, but agrees with much of it and welcomes its existence.
Turing Award winner Boaz Barak reposted and commented: worth reading in full. AI has several risks, but if they don't materialize, mathematics will only grow — though we may lose the individual heroism that motivated and inspired many mathematicians, himself included.
