The UK Business, Innovation, Science and Trade Committee has published a response from the AI Security Institute to its 9 September letter, confirming that Anthropic withheld its latest model from the institute. Reposter theobearman stresses that AISI is not a regulator, and that accurate reporting on what AISI is and is not matters — especially from public institutions.
The exchange puts the tension between frontier labs and government evaluation bodies on the public record.
