Jensen Huang names a third AI system type: testing systems as new compute demand
JOBhakdi · x · 2026-09-17
NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang says a third category of AI infrastructure is emerging alongside training and inference systems: testing systems.
- Training clusters create frontier LLMs and set model weights; inference systems run the agentic applications everyone uses.
- Testing systems run after training and during deployment to keep AI aligned and safe.
- The logic: humanity is building billions of hyper-intelligent AI workers (inference), which will require an even larger army of supervisory AIs watching over them.
For NVIDIA, this amounts to another massive source of compute demand — safety and alignment verification as a ubiquitous, heavy compute workload.
