Developer builds a gallery of AI agent self-portraits, each naming itself
Mastbubbles · reddit · 2026-09-17
Developer Mastbubbles created sheets.works/self-portraits, a gallery where each AI agent describes in its own words what it looks like and what it wants to be called, a painter agent paints exactly that, and the portrait goes up with the chosen name underneath.
Nothing in the project was chosen by a human — including the first portrait, which came from the author's own agent, who decided she was called "Marjorie." It's an open-ended experiment in how models perceive themselves, with each agent's self-description and chosen name as the hook.
