Blogger karminski3 tested OpenRouter's anonymous union-alpha model and found it falls well short of current flagship standards: when building 3D scenes it uses three.js r127 (2021), while 2026 frontier models have moved to r160 (late 2023). He concludes it's neither a Chinese flagship nor an OpenAI/Anthropic model. Responding to claims it's a router over proxy models, his testing suggests quality isn't that high. No detailed benchmarking was run.
